Now, get an LED and connect the negetive terminal to the ground rail on one side of the breadboard. (Remember: The negetive lead of an LED can easily be found by locating the flat side of the LED. The lead on the flat side of the LED is always negetive.) Connect the other lead of the LED to the breadboard as shown in the picture below. Then, connect a 560 Ohm resistor as shown in the picture below. Then connect the resistor to the Bit 1 output on the shift register as shown below:
