Wiring the Headphone Connector Step 4 of 7
The headphone plug has 3 solder terminals to solder your wires onto. For easy breadboarding I like to cut a couple jumper wires in half, and solder those onto the plug. The large bottom one goes to the base, the small left one goes to the tip, the the medium size right one goes to the ring. Your connector may look a bit different, so if you aren't sure use a multimeter to verify.
Solder the jumper wires. I have two of the same color so I used black permanent marker to mark the one going to the tip.
Make sure the different wires aren't touching, then you can screw the housing in place and make it look nice and neat.
